Roy J. Jackson Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Roy James (Jim) Jackson, Jr., went to be with Jesus on July 22, 2022 in Highland, CA. He was born in Pasadena, CA on June 2, 1937 the only child of Roy and Gladys Jackson. Growing up in San Gabriel, CA, he graduated from Mark Keppel H.S. in 1955. He was employed by Southern California Edison in April, 1956 where he started working as a Groundman. After 36 years with the company, he retired in April, 1992 as a Major Account Executive in Energy Services. After retirement he worked as a Church Administrator from 1992-1996. He also volunteered at church teaching Sunday School, member of many committees, served on Tech Teams working the sound and lighting boards, and Prison Ministries. Jim was very mechanical, “He could fix anything “, and he did! He loved flying RC model airplanes as a hobby. As a member of the Diamond Valley Flyers, he enjoyed great friendships on Saturday mornings. Cars were his passion, so as a teenager he worked at a gas station after school and on weekends saving for the first of about 30+ cars he owned during his lifetime. He was a member of the NHRA and served in the National Guard Reserves for six years. Family was very important to him, so we started camping when our family was young. We traveled all over the USA and he loved it. He especially enjoyed the Jackson Family Reunion every summer at the beach. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Carole, four children, Gary (Beth) Jackson, Debbi (Matt) Kraemer, Shari (John) Dotinga, Dan Jackson, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sisters-in-law Janice Howard and Diane Eggleston. A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Church, 1550 Reservior Road, Redlands, CA on Friday, August 12 at 3:00pm officiated by Pastor Paul Plaxton. In lieu of flowers, you may consider a memorial donation to Hume Lake Christian Camps.
