Lisa Marie Freeland
January 21, 1971 - August 30, 2021
Lisa Freeland 1/21/1971- 8/30/2021 Lisa was born in and grew up outside of Chicago in Country Club Hills, IL. Her family consisted of her Dad, Mom, and Brother. She graduated from Hillcrest High School, a year early, in 1989. In high school Lisa was a walk-on making the varsity tennis team never having played tennis before. After high school Lisa made the move to California all by herself to follow her dreams and live in California. Lisa has 5 children in all. Almost the brady bunch, with 2 being hers, 2 being mine, and 1 being ours. Lisa and Brian married on July 7th, 2012, after a handful of years being together. We had our struggles, but we always found a way to overcome employment and health challenges. We remained strong as a couple, parents, and family. Professional Career: Lisa started working in sales. She took a holiday position at Montgomery Wards. She took a sales position in the jewelry department and quickly came to the realization that she could sell and she did not have to sell diamonds to everyone. She quickly became the top seller. It was easy for her to up-sell customers and close sales. Lisa transitioned to banking and quickly learned that business and continued to sell. Once the banking industry struggled in the economic downturns she transitioned back to retail sales. By luck or other means Lisa got a sales position in retail mattress sales. She worked hard at learning about the mattress industry and selling. One year she made the president’s club by selling over $800,000 in merchandise. She obtained a position with Sit’nSleep and worked hard to hone her selling practices. She had a strong internal work ethic and worked hard so she could be rated near the top in sales each month. In 2020 Lisa sold over a Million dollars. She really was prideful in doing well in all she did. Personal Life: Lisa always said her goal as a mother was to make each child a good, independent and productive adult. She loved the kids while enjoying their activities, sports, and spending time with each. Lisa loved to travel. She was always looking for travel deals. She could never pass up a good cruise deal. She loved to cruise with family and friends. Her idea of a vacation was to visit a warm (hated the cold) area preferably a Caribbean island. On vacation she loved to create good memories, good food, experience the local culture; basically, experience all so could on each trip. On cruises she loved to explore during the day and then get dressed up for a nice dinner. ALways have to have at least one cruise picture. Lisa over the years found little things to enjoy. She found a love for cooking and recreating her favorite dishes. Lisa loved to go out and have a nice dinner once in a while. Lisa was an avid reader and researcher. She always said she should have some advanced degree reviewing my graduate research papers. She loved to play games on her phone and with family to satisfy her competitive nature. Lisa never liked to lose.
