Ada Marie Heemstra

January 12, 1934 - April 12, 2022

Ada Marie Heemstra, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Ada lived in Redlands for 71 years, moving at the age of 17 from St. Marys, Kansas. After raising her 4 children, she worked as a pharmacy assistant at Thrifty and a partner at Heemstra Signs in Redlands. Ada loved living and working in Redlands and in her retirement, she dedicated herself tirelessly to service in the community as an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Assistance League of Redlands. She was honored by the ALR for her outstanding “behind the scenes” service when she received their Ada Edwards Laughlin Award. Ada is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bob Heemstra, daughter, Victoria Lambert, son, Vance Lambert, sister, Sharon Couchois, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-granddaughters. She is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Ethel Perry, daughter, Jeanne Lambert Gallagher, and son, Mark Lambert. Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 1:00pm, with a reception following at the Redlands Country Club at 3:00pm.
